Overview

Great news! We improved your Parking Ecosystem Insights report by adding Permits data! The new Ecosystem Insights - Parking, Enforcement & Permits report provides everything you're used to, plus additional Permits data.

  • Note: If you bookmarked the old report, please update your bookmark to reflect this change.

The Ecosystem Insights - Parking, Enforcement, & Permits report makes it easier for you to spot trends and issues, and to compare and contrast performance across your Parking, Citation, and Permit activity.

This report can be filtered on the fly to reflect parking transactions specific to other integrated sources (e.g., Text 2 Pay, Park Mobile, Parkeon Meters, etc.). This means you will avoid the need to log in to multiple back-end systems and cobble together data to grasp the big picture.

If you are a long-time Passport customer, you are probably used to viewing tabular data with metrics spread across multiple reports. This report will improve your data visualizations without any additional configuration. Key visualizations include:

  • Total Revenue (Parking + Citation + Permit Revenue)

  • Parking Transactions Compared to Previous Year

  • Citation Issuance Volume Compared to Previous Year

  • Most & Least Cited Zones

What should I keep in mind when using this report?

Business Logic

  • Deltas are only calculated for KPIs when the selected date range is one year or less.

  • The maps on the Trends tab only display results when the date range is one year or less (because they visualize deltas).

  • Citation revenue is calculated based on the date the payment was received. The issued date of the citation and the payment type (e.g., partial, full, penalty, etc.) is not taken into account.

  • Permit counts and revenue are calculated based on the payment date of the permit.

Helpful Tips

  • On visualizations that group data by category, (e.g., Citation Revenue (by Payment Type), selecting a category in the legend will hide it so you can focus on the categories you are interested in. Select again to un-hide category.

  • The reporting logic defines a week as the period from Monday through Sunday. If the specified start date of the selected range is not a Monday, the data will include the week that includes the specified start date.

Features to Notice

This report displays the percentage of change from the previous year. This means you will be able to view trends and anomalies without needing to perform any manual calculations.

To reduce visual clutter, we have replaced the Daily and Weekly Parking visualizations with a single visualization called Parking Revenue by Time. This visualization automatically adjusts the x-axis time increments to months, weeks, days, or hours (based on the length of the specified time period).

Geographic heat maps make trends and anomalies in parking volume and citation issuance easier to spot by zone.

We implemented tabs to make the Enforcement metrics easily scannable and simpler to navigate.

By grouping product-specific content, connecting related information (like trends), we’ve made it easy to find what you need without scrolling a single page.
