Overview

While Parking Enforcement Officers typically enter citations or warnings in the field using OpsMan Mobile, sometimes you’ll need to create a citation in Passport’s portal.

Scenario

• During inclement weather, an officer might decide to issue a citation from their vehicle using a laptop.
• If an officer’s printer fails, they might write a citation by hand.
• In some operations, officers issue tickets but don’t have access to a device and/or printer.

Considerations 

The Write Citation interface mirrors OpsMan Mobile and includes the same fields, values, and entry processes. If a field is required, it would be required in both OpsMan Mobile and Passport’s portal.

Instructions

1. Select Enforcement > Write Citation
2. Complete all fields
3. Select Create Ticket
   • Note: After you select this button, a success message displays with a link to the citation.

Notes

If you attempt to create a blank ticket then select “Create Ticket,” the form will indicate which fields are required. The required fields will be determined by your operator settings. Contact the Support team if you need assistance.

Note: These fields can vary depending on your operator settings. Create a Support Ticket if you need help.

Pro tip: Start typing in any drop-down menu to narrow the list of results.

Citation (Warning) Details

Note: The title will change depending on whether you select “Citation” or “Warning” for the type

Issue Date

Enter a date, or use the calendar picker

Issue Time

Enter a time, or use the time picker

[checkbox] Use current date and time

• If checked, the Issue Date and Issue Time fields will not display
• If unchecked, the Issue Date and Issue Time fields will display

Note: You cannot enter a future date.

Note: This field uses a 12-hour clock (not military time).

Officer

Select from the list

Note: You cannot change the officer name after the citation has been issued.

Officer Number

This selection cannot be changed after the citation has been issued.

Note: This item will only appear if Warnings have been enabled for the operator.

Note: If you choose to leave the citation number blank and let the system auto-assign a number, this number cannot be edited after the citation has been created.

Note: You are only required to enter an LPN or a VIN, not both (even though both will display as required if you try to submit a blank citation).

Vehicle Identification Number
