Rate Edit Tool Suite

Overview

You can find the Rate Edit tool suite in the Passport menu under Parking > Rate Management > Rate Edit Tools. If you do not have access to the page, contact your System Administrator to request access. If you’re not sure who your System Administrator is, you can submit a Passport Support ticket for assistance.

The Rate Edit tool suite lets you make the most common rate and zone changes yourself, without submitting a support ticket. The tool suite supports specific workflows and subtools to streamline rate and zone operations. Below is a breakdown of supported tools, eligibility criteria, and items that remain out of scope.

Supported Subtools

Rate Edit

Edit the name, price, hours, session limits, or max price on an active rate. Rate Edit is available for active standard, conditional, and eligible scheduled rates. Scheduled rates are eligible when at least one time slot is within the last 30 days or in the future.

To help preserve the existing rate setup, some structural changes are handled outside of Rate Edit. These include changing the pricing interval or pricing type, adding or removing price blocks or time blocks, changing the entry/exit configuration, or adding or removing days.

Notifications & Restrictions

Use this for temporary parking blocks or informational messages, such as events, construction, or street cleaning. You can set the applicable time window, and the restriction or message will end automatically.

Deactivate a Zone

Use Deactivate Zone when a zone needs to be taken offline indefinitely. Deactivating a zone removes its rates and makes the zone unavailable in the Passport app and monitoring tools.

For temporary closures, events, or construction, use a Restriction instead. If a zone needs to be brought back after deactivation, contact Support.

Rate Schedules

Use this to update when an event rate is active. The default rate resumes automatically when the event window ends.

Zone Management

Use this to update a zone's name, address, spaces, or Extend Sessions setting.

These tools link directly to the relevant pages, so changes can be made through the existing self-service workflows.

When to Contact Support

Some changes require additional configuration and are handled by Passport’s Support, including:

  • Creating a new rate or zone

  • Making changes to future-dated rates

  • Creating, deleting, or editing Conditions or Free Times

  • Changing advanced rate settings

  • Modifying physical signage

  • Reactivating a deactivated zone

  • Attaching or detaching zones from rates, except when removing zones as part of deactivation

For changes involving Notifications & Restrictions or Schedules, you can make the update directly through those tools rather than submitting a Support ticket.
